The first association black has is a with mystery, the unknown and the hidden. Black is color of magic – the color that hides. It can be used to hide feelings, to separate oneself from the world. Black doesn’t usually express many emotions but when you get up on the hills that overlook black sand beach in Vík you will feel nothing but tsunami of emotions. I still remember the first time I saw this beauty, I just stood there for hours watched the white sea foam coming and going and leaving those beautiful traced patterns on the coal black sand. This is one of my favorite spots in Iceland. Why is like that I really don’t know. Guess black magic got control over me. Just kidding, but when you see the pictures you will know why.
